Meredith Akers, M.A.

Meredith has over 17 years of experience working with children and adults with disabilities. She has taught in a variety of settings including public & private schools (K-12th grade), community-based programs, and homes in the Bay Area. She works to create and implement comprehensive interventions and inclusive programming, specializing in social skills and Asperger Syndrome. She has served as master teacher and lecturer at local universities, facilitated several parent and community groups, and presented her work at statewide education conferences in California. Meredith holds an Educational Specialist Credential (Moderate/Severe Disabilities) and a Master's degree (Moderate/Severe disabilities) from San Francisco State University. Her passion is creating connections between students, families and their communities.  Meredith is also a member of the East Bay Chapter of the Women Presidents' Organization.

Tanya Scott, M.A., BCBA

Tanya is a Behavioral and Educational Consultant specializing in implementing inclusive education practices in public school settings, conducting Functional Analyses, creating Positive Behavior Plans, and training school-based staff on best practices in educational planning and behavior management implementation. She has worked in public and private school settings across the East Bay area since 1998. She currently teaches a graduate course in Positive Behavior Management for teachers at San Francisco State University. Tanya has a B.A. from New York University, a Master's degree in Special Education (Mild/Moderate Disabilities) from San Francisco State University and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.


Dawn Mackey

Dawn comes to Ed Support Services after working in the field of behavior and education consulting for over 10 years.  She possesses a keen sense of organization, efficiency, strategy, and process, but most of all humor.  Her experience is extensive regarding Human Resources affairs, legal issues, employee benefits and personnel administration, project/change management, and information technology.  She brings enthusiasm, intelligence and heart to her work, making her a perfect fit for Ed Support Services.



Pamela Osnes, Ph.D, BCBA-D

Pamela has been a highly respected member of our community for years.  Prior to joining Ed Support Services, she was the Global Manager of Learning Sciences at DYMO/Mimio in Cambridge, MA; the Director of Implementation at Headsprout, Inc.; and the Director of Educational Services at Behavior Analysts in Walnut Creek, CA. She has been an Assistant Professor and Director of the Master's Program in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of South Florida.  She received her Ph.D. in Special Education at the University of South Florida and Elementary Education at the University of South Dakota, her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at West Virginia University, and Bachelor's degrees at the University of South Dakota.  She has published over 30 articles and chapters, has edited two books, and serves on the editorial boards of Behavioral Interventions, Education and Treatment of Chlidren, and The Behavior Analyst.

She has received two model demonstration grants funded by the U.S. Office of Special Education Program, both of which developed inclusion models for preschoolers classified as severely emotionally disturbed and autistic, and preschoolers at-risk of special education classification.  Her predominant research interest has been in the generalization of behavior change of students with varying special education classifications, in addition to children at-risk for special education classification within regular education settings.  These students have spanned preschool to adult ages.

Other professional areas of interest and research have been in behavioral programming in school and home settings; instruction with children with severe and challenging behaviors and autism; consultation with teachers regarding students who exhibit behavioral problems and delays in acquisition of academic skills; functional assessment, self-management procedures including correspondence training, self-instruction, and goal-setting; and self-training.  Dr. Osnes is a Fellow at the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies in Cambridge, MA, a member of the Standing Review Committee for the U.S. Office of Special Education Programs, and an Adjunct Professor at Touro University-California.



Carrie Breaux, M.A.

Carrie joined the Ed Support Team in November of 2009 and has worked in the Bay Area since 2005. Carrie is the Director for Home and Community Services and oversees the agency's behavioral and social skills programs. Carrie received her Master's degree from San Francisco State University in Mild/Moderate Special Education. She also participated in the Project Mosaic program, focusing on autism spectrum disorders. Carrie’s main focus is family support, empowerment, and socialization skills. Carrie brings commitment and excitement to every project she works on, consistently creating engaging and successful programs for our families and supporting our staff to reach high levels of performance.


Sarah Mayfield, M.A., BCBA

Sarah Mayfield has been working in the field of austim for over 8 years. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Cal State Long Beach and then went on to get her Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Cal State Los Angeles. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Sarah has worked with children ranging in ages from 18 months-18 years old, as well as adults. She has extensive experience and training in ABA principles, Pivotal Response Training, PECS, Positive Behavior Support, parent training, and classroom consultation.

Once upon a time, in a land far away (New Zealand) lived a beautiful princess called Andi.  She was so well behaved that she decided to share her goodness with the world.  After ensuring that her own country topped the International Peace Index every year, she traveled across the seas to a foreign land.  There she joined with a company called Ed Support Services and, through her shining example and charismatic personality, managed to help children and families all across the San Francisco Bay Area.


Geneva Schauffler, M.A., BCBA

Geneva Schauffler is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 12 years of experience in working with children with disabilities including autism, ADHD, ED, Asperger's Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, Down Syndrome, and cerebral palsy.  She earned her Master's degree from Columbia University, specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis, and earned a teaching credential in both general and special education while at Columbia.  Geneva has worked with children ages 10 months to 16 years across a variety of settings including classrooms, in-home programs, and community-based programs both in the United States and abroad.  Geneva has extensive experience in working collaboratively with parents, teachers and other professionals to provide the best quality services for each individual child and is thrilled to be working with the Ed Supports team.


Karen Miller M.A., BCBA

Providing behavioral support strategies for individuals diagnosed on the autism spectrum or an intellectual disability has been an important part of Karen’s career for almost 30 years. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, she has a wide variety of experience from working in both public and non-public schools, to serving as a board member of the Regional Center. Karen also has an extensive history implementing effective strategies (including conflict resolution and school wide positive discipline programs) for students diagnosed with an Emotional Disturbance. Karen has a B.A. from Muskingum University, and Master's Degree in Counseling and Mental Health from Wright State University.


Melissa Schulz M.S.,NCSP, BCBA

Melissa Schulz is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and School Psychologist with 9 years experience working with individuals with behavior disorders.  Melissa joined the Ed Supports team in 2011 as a Clinical Director.  She has worked for public and non-public schools and residential homes, including being the director for a moderate to severe autism program at a Non-Public School.  Melissa attended Azusa Pacific University for her undergraduate degree in Psychology, and received her Master's in Science in Counseling and ABA Certificate at Cal State Los Angeles.  Melissa has extensive training and experience in Pivotal Response Treatment, PECS, Positive Behavior Support, and staff and parent training.  She is passionate about providing quality, individualized, and effective services to people with special needs.
